By linking your leadership style to the observable behaviour of an employee, you increase your impact as a manager. You contribute to the personal and professional growth of your employees and can increase your results by focusing on three elements:

  • the knowledge, skills and beliefs of your employees
  • their motivation
  • the degree of self-confidence.

During this training you will learn to master the skills needed to bring your people what they need. You also teach them to indicate to you what they need.

The following topics will be discussed during the training:

  • What does situational leadership entail and what are the benefits?
  • Which four basic styles of leadership does the Situational Leadership Model have?
  • What behavioural characteristics and preferences in communication style do you have as a manager?
  • What is the effect of that style on your colleagues?
  • What preferences in behaviour and communication do your colleagues have and how do you adapt your style to them?
  • How aware are you about how you come across to others and how you influence others?
  • How do you coordinate goals and tasks with your employees and how motivating and specific are they?
  • How do you attune to where someone is in terms of development level per task or goal?
  • How do you know if someone does not want to or cannot? And how do you deal with this as a manager?
  • How do you tailor your leadership style to what your colleagues need?
  • How do you conduct an effective one-on-one conversation with your employees?
  • How do you create ownership among your employees to indicate what they need from you?
  • What are other ways to increase your situational control (the extent to which you as a manager are able to influence the behaviour of employees)?
  • How do you anchor what you have learned in practice?

Training structure

Blended learning

It concerns a 'blended' learning in which you make a few preparatory assignments prior to the training that you actively work on during the training. For example, you use your own work situation during the training to practice the skills of Situational Leadership.

DISC leadership behaviour style

You also complete an online questionnaire. The result gives you insight into the flexibility and effectiveness of your management style and into where your qualities and points of attention lie.

You will also gain insight into your own DISC leadership behaviour style, your preferences in communication and practical tips with regard to how you can deal with your managerial pitfalls from a behavioural perspective. You learn to respond more flexibly to the different behavioural styles and the preferences of others in order to better achieve your goals.

Situational leadership style

Then you will get started with Situational Leadership on the basis of your own practical cases that you have prepared. This is how you master the right skills as a manager.

When you, as a Situational Leader, work towards optimal cooperation and coordination with your employees, you automatically create more ownership among employees about their own performance and their own development.

The training takes place in an idyllic location where you can focus without distraction on developing your leadership skills, interact with executives from other industries and gain inspiration around leadership development both inside and outside.
